{"id":4067,"date":"2020-03-24T14:27:49","date_gmt":"2020-03-24T13:27:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mndsupport.wpengine.com\/?post_type=faq&#038;p=4067\/"},"modified":"2021-12-27T10:57:41","modified_gmt":"2021-12-27T09:57:41","slug":"ways-to-add-images-to-press-release","status":"publish","type":"faq","link":"https:\/\/helpstaging.mynewsdesk.com\/en\/faq\/ways-to-add-images-to-press-release\/","title":{"rendered":"In which ways can I add images to my press release?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To add an image to a press release, you start off by going to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Publish &gt; Press releases,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> continue by clicking <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Create New<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, or simply pick <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Edit <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by using the menu button (three dots).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.009em;\">There are <strong>three ways to add an image<\/strong> to a Press release, News article or Blog post:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Header image<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Underneath <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Header image<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> you add the image you wish to use as the main image for the story. To add a new image, click on the frame and pick an image stored on your computer. You can also add it by dragging and dropping the image to the frame, then it will be uploaded automatically.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The header image is also added to the Image handler under <em>Publish<\/em> &gt; <em>Images<\/em>, but will not be automatically published in the <em>Media library<\/em> of your newsroom.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If your image is already uploaded to your Image Handler, you will be able to find it by clicking <em>Choose image from media bank<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The header image, or main image, will be shown at the top of your press release, as well as in list views &#8211; for example in search engine results, social media, or on Mynewsdesk Stories. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, this does <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mean that the image is downloadable. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Related media<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the section\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Related media<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> you click to upload or add images from your Image Handler.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you (in the last step before you confirm publication of the press release)\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">choose to publish your related content, these images will also be published on their respective site in the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Media library<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of your newsroom. Here they will &#8211; as long as you <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have not <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">selected <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All rights reserved <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as image licensing &#8211; be available for journalists to download. Therefore it is important that, if you want the header image (see above) to be downloadable, you also add it as <em>Related media<\/em>.<br \/>\n<b style=\"letter-spacing: 0.009em;\"><br \/>\nBody text<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is also possible to add images to the body itself. Firstly you click where you want the image to be in the text, and then click the image icon in the body text\u2019s tool menu.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.009em;\">If you then wish to change its size, simply click the image itself once uploaded, and move your cursor to the bottom right corner until an arrow appears. Click this arrow and drag it to the size you wish the image to be.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The advantages of adding images to the body text is that you can customise where they are located.
